प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने लाओ पीडीआर के वियनतियाने में मलेशिया के प्रधानमंत्री अनवर इब्राहिम से मुलाकात की।
10 अक्टूबर 2024 को लाओस के वियनतियाने में आयोजित 21वें आसियान-भारत शिखर सम्मेलन के दौरान प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने मलेशियाई प्रधानमंत्री अनवर इब्राहिम से मुलाकात की। यह बैठक आसियान-भारत और पूर्वी एशिया शिखर सम्मेलनों के दौरान हुई, जहां दोनों नेताओं ने द्विपक्षीय संबंधों को मजबूत करने के विभिन्न पहलुओं पर चर्चा की।
अनवर इब्राहिम ने विशेष रूप से डिजिटल परिवर्तन, पर्यटन और भारत की सॉफ़्टवेयर विकास विशेषज्ञता के माध्यम से आसियान और भारत के बीच व्यापार और निवेश को बढ़ाने पर ज़ोर दिया। उन्होंने आसियान-भारत वस्तु व्यापार समझौते (AITIGA) की समीक्षा को जल्दी पूरा करने की भी बात की। दोनों नेताओं ने शिक्षा, सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यमों (MSMEs) और मानव संसाधन विकास के क्षेत्रों में सहयोग बढ़ाने पर चर्चा की ।
इस बैठक के दौरान यह भी तय किया गया कि 2025 को “आसियान-भारत पर्यटन वर्ष” के रूप में मनाया जाएगा, जिससे लोगों के बीच सांस्कृतिक आदान-प्रदान और सहयोग को बढ़ावा मिलेगा ।
During the 21st ASEAN-India Summit held in Vientiane, Laos, on October 10, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ASEAN-India and East Asia summits, where both leaders discussed various aspects of enhancing bilateral ties.
Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the importance of strengthening trade and investment between ASEAN and India, particularly through digital transformation, tourism, and leveraging India’s expertise in software development. He also called for a swift conclusion of the review of the ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA). Both leaders focused on boosting collaboration in education, MSMEs, and human capital development .
Additionally, the meeting underscored the commitment to further people-to-people exchanges and cultural collaboration, with 2025 designated as the “Year of ASEAN-India Tourism” . This summit provided an opportunity to advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and ASEAN nations.
