बहराइच की हिंसक घटना पर लोकदल के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष चौधरी सुनील सिंह ने अपनी प्रतिक्रिया दी। उन्होंने घटना के लिए पूरी तरह से प्रदेश सरकार को जिम्मेदार ठहराया है । उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार कानून व्यवस्था को कायम रखने में विफल रही है।मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ से आग्रह किया कि वे इस मुद्दे पर सीधे हस्तक्षेप करें और जनता के साथ हुए अन्याय के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई करें।

लोकदल ने सरकार से हिंदू-मुस्लिम राजनीति से ऊपर उठकर मानवता और न्याय के आधार पर काम करने की अपील की है। पार्टी ने सरकार की नीतियों को समाज में विभाजनकारी बताते हुए सभी नागरिकों की सुरक्षा और सांप्रदायिक सौहार्द बनाए रखने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया ।
